About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work Hard, Play Harder

ABOUT ME

I'm a very active and outgoing single forty-something pursuing my dream of helping other people. My nonprofit organization, International Initiatives, was created to do just that. With a focus on emergency management, disaster response and disaster risk reduction through resiliency, the nonprofit is building partnerships in Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia and thus I will be spending most/all of my time there over the next few years. House sitting, couchsurfing and exchanging help for room and board provides a flexible and cost effective means of accomplishing that objective while gaining valuable insights into sustainable operations/methods and meeting some of the very stakeholders I aim to serve. This also provides a way to get to know people and areas much better while seeking the local perspective and contributing to some extent back to the local area and economy.

That being said, I am determined to have a blast while living on the road for the next couple of years!! I'm a fun-loving adventurer who is always looking for the most incredible places with the best people, the action, a good party, and outdoor activities of all types. I also enjoy chill times, lying in my ENO hammock reading or counting the stars, relishing meaningful conversation, playing a game of chess or cards. Fine wines to local cervezas and home-batched tequila, street vendor frijoles y arroz to four-course meals, I embody contradiction effortlessly.

To put at ease potential hosts and travel companions: I serve on the Brazos Valley IMT (Incident Management Team) under the umbrella of the Texas IMT, and we are a state and national asset in time of emergency/disaster. I also serve on the Brazos Valley CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) to assist my local Texas community. I encourage you to view my LinkedIn profile at https://www.linkedin.com/in/martintrippeason to get a broader picture of who I am and what I do. Though I don't yet have any couchsurfing references, I do have some house sitting and general references which can be viewed at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o6dj3gnf14msn0l/AAAHIsGSwiXmfzJHzTDEKl4ma?dl=0 .

Really looking forward to meeting people throughout the Caribbean, Central & South America and Asia- hosts and fellow travelers! Would love to network!!
