Overview
About Me
I’m a songwriter from Sydney, starting to travel and gig around Australia.
I’m friendly, easy going, with a good sense of humour and a wide range of interests. I have lots of experience travelling, living in share houses and couch surfing - I find ways to connect with most people, but especially so with likeminded people.
My lifestyle preferences are to stay sober, eat vegan, go to sleep and wake early, and practice peaceful, mindful living.
I teach music, host music events, volunteer for a not-for-profit community restaurant in Newtown Sydney, and I’m working on releasing music on my own independent label.
I like to do regular trips around Australia, playing gigs, open mics and busking wherever, and couch surfing makes this possible!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like visiting places and meeting local people, sometimes in spontaneous ways. I plan to travel the world (starting locally) sharing music, exchanging ideas and creating moments with people, and the Couchsurfing community plays a big part in this adventure!

Music, Movies, and Books
The music I love falls under jazz, electronic, indie rock, folk, world, pop, and in between the gaps! I’m an open minded music fanatic - I can bond with anyone over music.
The music I make combines Bossa Nova/Samba and Australian indie folk influences, a sense of humour and social consciousness, for a new style, ‘Aussa Nova’, which is also the name for my label and music events.
The movies I watch tend to be non-Hollywood, alternative classics or documentaries.
The books I read are mostly non-fiction, with occasional novels and poetry books. I love libraries and gravitate to books on philosophy, sociology, self-development/spirituality, art/music/literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived with an upright piano in a tent on the beach in Edinburgh for two weeks, thanks to a fortunate meeting in a cafe - it’s my favourite travel memory and story!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching, learning and sharing are my favourite things. We all have so much to offer and accept! Sharing and growing is natural!
I teach guitar, songwriting, production, and music generally, both by donation to friends and at schools, because I love it and I’m good at it. I have also taught English in Europe and love practicing and discussing languages.
I’m interested in life, people, moments! I’m an observer of the world, a dedicated student of life. I love meeting people, enjoying great conversations and laughing all along the way - sharing humour is the best!
