About Me

I grew up in San Diego, California. I've also lived in San Bernardino, I went to university in Santa Cruz, and after graduation I moved up to Santa Rosa. Since then I've been a nomad for the most part.
I've been told by everyone I've ever met that I'm a "chill dude", so let's chill!

CURRENT ADVENTURE:

Trying to set roots somewhere for a little bit. This is new for me.

PHILOSOPHY:

"In the world we want, many worlds fit. The Nation which we construct is one where all communities and languages fit, where all steps may walk, where all may have laughter, where all may live the dawn."
-Subcomandante Marcos

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What's the point of traveling if you're not going to get the perspective of the people who live there, and what's the point of having a home if you aren't going to have guests? (Unfortunately I don't currently have a home...)

Music, Movies, and Books

In the words of Kurt Vonnegut Jr.: "The only proof he needed for the existence of God was Music".
Music is my first and truest love and my saving grace. I love all types of DIY, experimental, sincere, and generally creative/innovative music. I am eternally on the hunt for new jams, so I would love to hear what you're listening to.

I've always enjoyed watching movies casually as a pass-time, but have recently had an awakening to the art form. I would love to discuss film with anyone interested.

Since graduating from university, I've been able to read for myself rather than for a class, so I've been tearing through everything I can get my hands on. Recently I've been really getting into the Russians (Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy) and also some material about sustainable agriculture (I HIGHLY recommend ever person read "An Agricultural Testament" by Albert Howard). But I'm also sort of a history buff and any book that has to do with revolutionary history or calls itself "A People's History" grabs my interest. But I gotta give it up for Sci-fi (or speculative fiction) it's what got me to start reading books in the first place and Vonnegut is God and Ursula K. LeGuin is Goddess.
If I visit your town I would be infinitely grateful if you could point me in the direction of your favorite used book store.
