I just moved back to Portland after eight years living in Europe. I lived in Krakow for seven years and spent the past year in Warsaw.

Various meetings and parties as well as giving some tours to CS visitors when I lived in Krakow and Warsaw.

Interests

This is space where I'm supposed to write something eccentric or esoteric like 'composing music in gamelan scales' or something that makes me sound cool like 'skydiving'. I guess I'm interested in history, current world events, NBA basketball and in the past couple years I've taken up marathon running. Occasionally, when properly inspired, I dabble in writing poetry, even in Polish.

Music, Movies, and Books

Again, I guess I'm supposed to put something cool like 'David Lynch movies' or 'Hemingway novels'. I read mostly non-fiction. In the last couple years reading about neurophysiology has been a hobby of mine. I prefer the episodic nature of TV programs to the limits of movies. We're living in a golden age of television with superbly written shows like 'The Wire', 'Mad Men' and 'Breaking Bad', as well as my person favorite 'South Park'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've eaten Polish Wigilia food multiple times and lived to tell about it.
