About Me

CURRENT MISSION

enjoy the beautiful city of Prague!

learn more about rocks, enjoy life, be outside, travel around and meet new people, cultures and cool places. learn a non-roman language

ABOUT ME

Some people might call me crazy, while others consider me a really calm person, it mostly depends on the company. I am german but three years in Latin America, one year in Venezuela as a high school exchange student and two years in Brasil during University, left their marks and they are often hard to hide ;-) (at the moment I am studying in Prague, but only for one semester)
I think I am a very open minded and openhearted person. Life teached me to be uncomplicated and I easily adapt to new environments. I enjoy travelling, nature, music and dancing and also long hours of drinking tea with someone.
Sometimes I might talk a bit too much. (Don't ask me about Venezuela or Brazil as I won't stop talking for a while). Although nature is a very important part of my life and I adore hiking, I fell in love with the city of Sao Paulo. Back in my tiny town of Germany I miss the diversity, vibrance and electricity this metropole has.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy every minute of your life! If something goes wrong don't worry, there will be a solution for everything or as the brazilians say: Sempre tem um jeito.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I consider CS a great opportunity to get into contact with locals and other travelers while travelling. Especially as I often travel alone it is the perfect way to get deeper into the places. As I didn't spend too much time in Germany the last years I did not made CS experiences here. The place where I live doesn't allow me to host people but in the future I would like to do so.
I am quite lucky to have friends around the world (and they have more friends) which is why I didn't surf many couches until now. But I already met several people in different places for getting to know places and attended several CS meetings in Brazil where I met really nice people that are my friends until now.

Interests

My interests are quite diverse, the broad topics can be called dance, music, cultures, acrobatics, rocks and many others.
For the moment my favourite dancing types are Forró and Afro-dances, but I already had a look into the areas of flamenco, salsa, ballroom dances and blues. Other "body-activities" I really like to do are tissue acrobatics, recently some yoga and pilates, hiking and swimming.
Singing is part of my life since I am 3 years old and I don't want to miss it. Until I started University I also played piano and violin but unfortunately my instruments suffered a bit the last years. The only one that survived a bit longer was my Venezuelean quatro (special type of an ukulele). For the moment it's mainly singing in a choir that likes to sing sacral renaissance music.
I am travel addicted. I grew up watching my father open his bagage when coming back from tribal india. Although I have never been there I feel at home when someone tells me crazy stories about shamanism and head-hunters from Nagaland. South America became my preferred travel area for fortunately reasons I reached quite far into the middle of nowhere.
Ah and I like doing things with my hands and buy handmade stuff. And I love eating, basically everything, as long as it's not everyday the same.
I am passionate about rocks but I think it's not necessary to go into detail here ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

CD's are still my favorite type of music storage media. The growing collection includes Jarabe de Palo, Manu Chao, Roberta Sa, Cris Cosmo, Muse, Ska-P, Shantel, Gotan Project and more... Most of the singers sing in spanish or portuguese ;-)
Alternatively also Brahms, Mendelsson and Antonio Estévez

Books: the ones I can't stop reading

I haven't seen too many films in life, I prefer acting by myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitch-hike to a place where about one car per week goes (welcome to the soja-deserts in the heart of Brazil). [and a second: one week with a indigenous tribe in Venezuela]

Teach, Learn, Share

German culture classes, brazilian dances and music from Venezuela? Of course I can also tell quite a lot about stones, but unfortunately I notice quite often that this is not everyone's passion ;-) (although it's much more vivid than many people think!)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A big smile, joy, energy and silence if necessary

Countries I’ve Visited
