About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world one day at a time...

ABOUT ME

Well, I'm complicated. I'm Brazilian but lived in the USA for over half my life. I lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York and I returned to Brazil in 2009. I LOVE meeting new people. Living in NYC was the most amazing experience of my life, I graduated college there, and was teaching English here in Brazil until I started working with the British Council 2 years ago and get to travel to the UK for work quite often, which is a dream come true for me. I love my job since I get to build bridges between Brazil and the UK through education.

PHILOSOPHY

NEVER SETTLE, NEVER SETTLE... the moment you settle, then you stop learning, you stop growing, and your soul weakens.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think Couch Surfers is one of the most amazing ideas, it should've happened YEARS ago. I believe that traveling is how we LEARN about what is REAL in this life... not only to SEE a new place, but to let it become part of you forever. Unfortunately I can't offer a couch right now in order to contribute to the process. Here in São Paulo I share an apartment with 2 other girls, so I don't really have this type of freedom. Coffee or drink would be awesome though! :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed twice in Rio de Janeiro, and had wonderful experiences. Recently though, I have been a bit dissapointed. I have noticed that some men use couch surfing as a way to get pretty girls to stay in their homes, hoping to get something out of it. If you are a man and you offer to host me please know I have a boyfriend to whom I am faithful to and I will leave at the same moment if I am approached in any other way other than a friend. I will not take disrespect in any shape or form. For this reason I will always give preference to stay with women. It is quite sad that it has to be this way due to what I have seen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Zip lined upside down in Salkantay Trail in Peru!

Hiked to the top of the tallest waterfall in Brazil, Cachoeira da Fumaça, and looked down into the abyss at Chapada Diamantina National Park in Bahia.

Climbed up Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.

Grand Canyon. Need I say more?

Teach, Learn, Share

Knowledge: From what I learned this far, I came to the simple conclusion that there's still so much to learn, but at the same time, we are not meant to know everything. My opinion is: Life is personalized. There is no formula, there is never only one way of being or doing something right, and there are many different routes towards happiness and satisfaction. It all comes from inside of us, we only need to WANT to listen and to observe, to explore, we should not be afraid to put ourselves in difficult situations, in a completely different environment in order to experience something new. We should learn how to mold ourselves to fit any situation and to stop judging others, and the best way I found to do that was to immerse myself completely in totally different places and cultures.
