Kia ora, Hallo, Ahoy, Bonjour!

I hope you are well! My names Troy, I am 26 and am from New Zealand 🇳🇿 (definitely not Australia) 😉

Nearly two years ago, I got tired of my job in New Zealand and wanted to see a little bit more of the world. So I brought a one way ticket!

In 2024, I finished riding my bicycle from the UK to Turkey and just spent the last couple of months back home in Wanaka, New Zealand! But now I just finished travelling and climbing through Japan, and am now on my next big adventure in 2026 🫶🏼

Climbing is one of my biggest passions, but I am trying to broaden my horizons and learn new exciting things about our world and the people within it 🌍

Currently I’m trying to explore a lot of mindful and present aspects in life. It’s something that I’m finding quite interesting and am excited to keep continuing! 🧘🏽

I’m also a vegetarian ☺️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have a word in New Zealand called manaakitanga, it means the process of showing respect, generosity, and care for people, and I try hard to practice these values ☺️

Interests

As you can probably tell, my biggest interest and passion is lots of adventure based activities! I love being in the outdoors, learning about history, and trying to find peace.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think life in general pretty incredible! Every day has at least one amazing moment, from a conversation with a waiter to a smile to a stranger 😌

Teach, Learn, Share

If I am hosting people, I love to take them rock-climbing if they would like to. I have been rock-climbing for nearly ten years and am a qualified teacher and coach in the sport.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have plenty of stories to share and can offer to cook dinner, and share a drink.
