About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to travel the world, listening to other people's stories. One of my plans while traveling is to hang out in cafes while I work on my computer, with my microphone sat on the table and a sign that asks, "Tell me your story?" I can't wait to see what happens.
ABOUT ME
Recently I have realized that two things are important to me, keeping it simple, and listening to stories. I really enjoy podcasts like This American Life, Strangers, Risk! and The Moth, and I moved to Los Angeles last year to try my hand at live storytelling myself!
I love pop culture, films/books/tv series all of it. I can talk with interesting people for hours, I will drink a beer beside you silently if you prefer.
PHILOSOPHY
Being myself and hoping other people can dig it, digging you for being yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've couch surfed in NYC, Brooklyn, Athens GA, Virginia, Florida, Boston, and I'm looking for more! Will be hosting soon in my new apartment in Charlotte, NC!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've really enjoyed couch surfing, I stayed with amazing people in each place and have made lifelong friends out of many of them. One of the best moments in Brooklyn was finding out that an Austrian friend had her heart strings pulled by My So-Called Life all the way over there just as I did in North Carolina and then we pulled mattresses onto the roof and took a laptop and watched My So-Called Life while eating wine-soaked mangoes!
Interests
Films! Music! I love all kinds of both. Lately I've been working through tv series I hadn't seen already like Twin Peaks and Fawlty Towers. I sew, craft, knit, collage, collect, clean, and enjoy wine/beer/liquor. I like to draw on a mustache and wear hats. Wigs are fun! I LOVE doing wild and interesting makeup, especially eye makeup. It's like art for your face! I usually travel with enough eye makeup to make up everyone around me!

Music, Movies, and Books
OK Film: Herzog, Scorsese, Bergman, Wes Anderson, some low brow comedies, anything with blood and guts, British people, I'm not picky about genre but let's just say that I would not be at all willing to watch Blue Crush.
Music: Girl Talk, Of Montreal, David Bowie, Kinks, The Who, The Beatles, T.Rex, Talking Heads, Elvis Presley, Elvis Costello, Flaming Lips, old soul and jazz, Roy Orbison, Elton John, TV on the Radio, ELO...etc.
TV: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Doctor Who, Community, Luther, Shameless, An Idiot Abroad, 30 Rock, Sopranos, Parks and Rec, Game of Thrones, Carnivale, and the best show I have ever loved...TWIN PEAKS.
Books: Anything by Tom Robbins, anything about religion (not at all religious), This Way Madness Lies, The Little Prince, House of Leaves, Animal Farm, Ender's Game...etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked on a movie that Bonnie Pointer of The Pointer Sisters sang a song for, and I drank martini's and cussed out a bee with her! We also made up a bedtime song for the director's dog haha.
Dressed James Franco.
Interviewed Tom Savini, awesome special effects makeup artist!
Worked on a tv show that won 2 Golden Globes! 6 Emmys! (Homeland)
A few nights ago I worked a night shoot where I saw a house burned to the ground, I saw biker stunt guys kill each other with lead pipes under a rain machine, I saw a guy get a pretend finger chopped off and fed to a dog. This is not abnormal in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to knit, make earrings from shrinky dinks, and I can share with you my knowledge of who was in what movie with who else. I can answer all "What was that movie with... or Who's that actor" questions. I can suggest some hilarious podcasts and would love to learn math haha!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My wit, humor, and red wine stained teeth.
