About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently looking for a place to make a home with my partner Maricella. Along the way hot spring hunting, foraging, eating well, staying warm and staying open to opportunities.

ABOUT US

We have a strong desire to be connected with the natural landscape that surrounds us well as community. We have been traveling together since 2016. While in the US we live full time in truck comfortably and travel, work and live a life that is full. We travel with tools of our trades and an intention to share, learn, and trade. We actively barter. We are both very interested in health and food. I am a chef and have dedicated the last decade of my life pursuing skills and knowledge of food. Recently we have become more dedicated to improving our ability to travel and harvest/process/preserve foods, medicine and other treasures that can be found.

PHILOSOPHY

Do it with passion. Forgive every moment. Hold my word tight to my chest. Surrender.
"Tired of all who come with words, words but no language.I went to the snow-covered island. The wild does not have words. The unwritten pages spread themselves out in all directions! I come across the markes of roe-deer's hooves in the snow. Language, but no words." Tomas Transtromer

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Giving my fullest attention to everyone that I meet. Cooking For the People. I am a surfer visiting peoples homes and kitchens all over the world. Currently we would like to become connected to the community of Idaho, Montana and Washington. I am not looking for a free place to stay, I would like to connect.

As we are traveling in our home, we do not require much more than a level place to park from hosts. (in cold winter an outlet to plug our 1991 diesel into is also a huge bonus). We love cooking for guests as a way of showing appreciation and connecting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in Europe, Asia, Canada and the US. I have found it to be an excellent way of learning and sharing. It is infinitely more authentic and inspiring than visiting hotels and tourists traps. I have only surfed and expect to host one day. It is such a great way to get a true feeling for a place.

Interests

We love real food and each aspect of how we cultivate, harvest, and prepare it. I have spent the most recent decade as a chef/butcher, a farmer of annuals and pigs, a camping guide, and a man of community. My health is a focus; spiritual, mental, physical. I understand by supporting my community I support myself. I recently bought a compound bow and am sooo stoked to become a strong archer and use it to hunt.

We are currently interested in Northern Idaho and the surrounding area. I have put a lot of energy into my website and you can get a good sense of who I am by checking it out. www.consciouscourse.org

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music of most genres. From Nat King Cole and Sinatra to CCR, Rush, Queen,to Tribe Called Quest and Andre Nickatina to Ali Farka Toure. I can get down with some hip hop, some Johnny Cash and some Sade.

I like reading Rudolf Steiner, Carlos Castaneda, Paul Stamets, the bible and about astrology, philosophy, spirituality, land management, the natural world and more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

STANDING ROCK

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a fair amount of knowledge of food to share and teach ; fermentation of vegetables and meat, preserving, cultivation, harvesting, slaughtering and butchering, modern restaurant skills like saute and sauce making, and my favorite building stoves of rock and cooking on them. I am eager to share and I remain hungry to learn of others styles and techniques. Also, I usually have wild mushrooms on me to share.

I can share a ride.
I can share a drum.
I can share a fire.
I can share my dreams.

I would love to learn of the old world techniques. I would like to learn about hunting. I would like to learn of different ways to live in the modern world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

gratitude. EPIC FOOD. a ride. Perspective. Photos.

I love genuine interaction and often help/collaborate with hosts. I am that dude who is down to get up at 2 am in the freezing cold to see a sunrise or be in the right place to harvest a deer. I am physicaly active and can be helpful with laborious projects.
