ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Charlene. I'm currently a language assistant who teaches chinese in junior and senior high school at Marseille from October 2012.
I am a happy and open minded girl who always looks on the bright side. I love travel very much! And I have an excellent physical strength so that I can walk or bike far away to visit many places. In fact, I wish I could travel around the world one day!
With courage and spirit of “ Nothing to be afraid of, just do it! ”, I am willing to take any adventure in life.
As my parents own small a tabanyaki restaurant(鐵板燒) in Taipei (capital of Taiwan), I have worked as a server and an assistance to cook since thirteen and met several kinds of people. I had even sold lunches on the street in a typhoon!

I hope myself to be a versatile girl. In fact, I named myself informally “Trying”. Because it sounds like my Chinese name” Chiao ying”. Besides, I expect that I can have a try at all kinds of fields. If I don’t give a try and simply say I can’t, how pity it is! Like the name I named myself: I’m Trying. My name is Trying. I am endeavoring and… exploring.

And now, I would like to try to be a couchsurfer !

I want to try to be a surfer and even a host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have started couchsurfing from last summer.
It was really a wonderful experience!! And I would like to do it again and again.
In fact, I think I'm kind of falling in love with Couchsurfing! I love it because it allows me not only to meet all kinds of people, but also to discover the world.

And after surfing abroad, I would like try to host someone in Taipei city (Taiwan)!:)

I've been to many plces in Taiwan, and I have a part time job for the children's summer camp in a travel agency during 2 years.

I love Taiwan, and I'll be glad to introduce my hometown for you and show you around.:)

Interests

I love dancing, plying the guitar, drawing, designing, playing badminton(I have been in school team) and tasting all kinds of food that I haven't tried yet(dessert in particular).

And Travel of course!I love extremely strolling aroud to look and see by bicycle, because it's free, easy,environmentally friendly, and the most important of all, I can lose weight unconsciously. Haha!^u^ Just kidding. Travel by bike allow me to take deeper experience of each place, not just "sightseeing". Whenever I encounter occasionally a beautiful site, I can stop to appreciate the wonderful moment! In fact, I can bike for a really long distance. And I plan one day I'll travel around Taiwan by bike!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was an international volunteer in Yunnan province in southwest China(中國雲南), I had an amazing experience. Because I really cherished every moment in the fantastic place and wanted to record it by photos, I carried the camera in my pocket all the time, even when I went to a toilette! And the toillet I used there is not as usual as the others: it doesn't have automatic flushing, that is, I had to flush it by scooping water and pouring down to the commode. When I was flushing by myself, my camera slipped out of my pocket！ "OH MY GOD! MY PHOTOS!!!!" I didn't think too much and just stretch my hand into the...excreta.
I did so for just one reason: saving the memories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to try many things.

I can teach :
1. dancing(I've joining Pop Dance Club for 3 years)
2. badminton(I am a player in a school team when I was elementary student, and some of my friends are national players now)
3. guitar(I've been an assistance to a guitar teacher-help the teacher teach the teenagers)
4.Chinese and Chinese culture.

Since I've travel many places in Taiwan, I can share my travel experience with you and tell you the beauty and gourmet of Taiwan in every corner!:)
