About Me

I quit my life in Chicago/the US 3 years ago to teach English in Japan for a year and have now been roaming around China, SE Asia, and now Australia for the last year and a half, unlearning everything I thought I ever knew. I love just soaking up a place, whether in the quiet of nature, the buzz and people watching of a city, or a conversation with a new friend.

I have lots of great references from workaway (work exchange website) and trustedhousesitters if you need proof that I'm a worthy surfer. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far, I've basically just had the pleasure of meeting other couchsurfers at events, specifically hiking outings. I love the fast connections made with others around the world and am hoping to continue to use couchsurfing to connect with and learn about a wide variety of places and people and maybe pick up/share some great recipes along the way.
I don't have a couch to share at the moment as I have nomad status, but promise to open one up when I finally settle somewhere!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love just about any kind of music from oldies to rock and hip hop to international and classical.
My favorite books have been: Breakfast with Buddha, Hunger Games, The Bell Jar, Annie Freeman's Traveling Funeral, and a list of children's books I can't even begin to list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu!! It was by far my favorite adventure so far. There aren't many places that I would agree to go back to, just because there are so many more places to experience, but I would go back to Peru in a heartbeat. such a magical place!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking, great conversation, respectful/clean guestmanship, and life stories!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Canada, China, France, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Peru, Singapore, Thailand
