About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to make it through school while maintaining sanity

ABOUT ME

I moved out to Nashville in August 2012 for school from Oregon by way of Cincinnati (alright, fine, Covington). Most of my time in Nashville is spent studying, drinking (on a good weekend), or bbqing (on the best weekend). Basically: I'll do my best, but I can't pretend to be a master tour guide!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed across the U.S. and loved it. Now, hopefully I can host and give back to the community!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The past trip introduced me to couchsurfing. My roommate and I were worried it would be awkward, etc, but it's turned out to be the most fun part of the trip. One guy even took us rock climbing, rafting, and shooting, and thus convinced us Wyoming was the best state. We've met awesome people through couchsurfing and can't wait to host.

Interests

There are so many things that I like, and I'm still discovering more now that I'm not writing things off that I used to hate in middle school (who knew I'd begin to like hiking somewhere between getting my first crush and graduating college?). A small list: hiking, movies, books, museums, playing sports poorly, cooking, yardwork...

Music, Movies, and Books

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, About a Boy, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, Skinny Legs and All, Ender's Game, the Blandings Series by P. G. Whodehouse

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The two things that I remember the most vividly from trips were walking through the dimly lit Rat Temple in India, only stepping on the white tiles to avoid stepping on rats, and going out in a rickity rowing boat in Peru one night and our guide grabbing a baby caymen so we could pet one.

Teach, Learn, Share

I got a degree in Linguistics, but sadly I don't speak other languages (I can say a few things in Russian, though don't count on accuracy).

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Peru, Thailand
