About Me

CURRENT MISSION

learn to live in the moment

ABOUT ME

So after a bit of traveling I've decided to settle for a bit in Bordeaux to try to learn French (keyword: try). I have found that exploring the world has been plenty of fun but there also comes a time where it's nice to have somewhere to call 'home'...and to not have to pack your bags every night and hike to the next (although I actually miss that too, haha).

the basics:
I graduated from Kinesiology back in 2012 (yay for finishing!)...and now I'm enrolled in Engineering (more yay for more school?) in France. When I first created my CS account, it was before I could even imagine traveling a part from North America. I was lucky to get a taste of 'traveling' through my internships during my Kin program but the furthest from home was USA. Without a doubt, Europe is a completely different story.

So about me:
I am no good at writing and describing, so bear with me. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. My parents were born and raised in Hong Kong. That being said, there were some differences in our opinions in, well, everything. Safe to say, I've been the one to always stir things up ;)

In the past few years, I've met other people and understood different ways of life. Now, I want to experience it.

PHILOSOPHY

Embrace every moment but also let them pass.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I can't really surf in the ocean, surfing couches are the next best thing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few opportunities here and there. I'm usually either unsure of my plans or my days in the city I'm visiting is mega jam-packed so I don't want to make a request and end up not being able to spend time with the host!

Interests

I can usually find something interesting in anything :)

  • writing
  • traveling
  • hiking
  • surfing

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music, really.

Most recently, I went to Rock en Seine 2015 in Paris and Osheaga 2015 in Montreal. I really enjoyed both but I have to say that Osheaga. Let's not forget about house/electronic/dubstep, back in 2012 I went to EDC in Las Vegas...AMAZING. For those who don't know what that is, it's basically a nocturnal electronic festival in the middle of the desert.

There's tons of things to do in Toronto and one of them that I really enjoy are free music events over the city. One of my favorites is the International Beach Jazz Festival Oh, and I totally dig musicals (Wicked was, well, wicked).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil - saw the play-off for third place (BRA vs NLD) which just happened to land on my 25th birthday!

Spent less than a year traveling around the world after graduation. There are so many memories and stories that I still dream about everyday. You'll have to ask me if you want to know :)

Peru. I volunteered in a small village to help build a kindergarten and I climbed Machu Picchu.
