Overview
About Me
I am Winnie, a 28 yo from Hong Kong.
10 quick facts about me for you to know me:
1. I am the most atypical Chinese you will have ever met, host me and you will be surprised
2. I am a vegetarian, I love nature, animals, children, and people.
3. I think the world needs more farm lands than Disneyland. True magic is when humans are in the almighty kindness and beauty of nature. Her unbeatable grace comes upon us when we truly understand how to love.
4. I used to work in corporate marketing, but my dream job is to work in a small scale start-ups making good changes to the world. I think Urban farming and sustainable food production is one of them.
5. I love Yoga and Qi Gong, and Tango. I think the 3 are interconnected in terms of life energy and life philosophy.
6. I am reading "Jesus' Son" by Denis Johnson, and this book is phenomenal. I think I am going to keep it as my travelling companion book.
7. Ever since I quitted my corporate marketing job at Shell, my life is never stable again. I am constantly in transition, I don't like it but I am trying to adapt to it. Because i) the world is always changing, and it's your mind that anchors everything, and ii) Changes of plan is just a chance for you to swap for better things. If I can do these 2 things right, I can be myself anywhere I go.
8. I love travelling because travelling teaches me a lot about life and humanity. And it plants in me a lot of seeds to be a better person, and have a bigger zest for life.
9. I believe true kindness comes from the faith you have in people. If we believe people are good and can be good, we will be kind from within.
10. I have too many ideas and I drive myself mentally and physically exhausted due to my poor prioritising and decision-making. Currently, I am wrestling with Wordpress, online marketing, blog-writing and organic farming, and heaps of other stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
because it's a good way to know more locals and have in-depth understanding of a place and culture. I really value the exchange. I would love to host if I was not living with my parents. . . One day when I am living by myself I would love to return the favours....
