I'm a teacher. I've lived abroad for several years and I travel as much as possible. I play music, write, take photos, stay active and, at the end of the day, look for some good conversation over a couple nice beers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people is great, and especially if I'm travelling solo, it seems like a cool, organic way to get to know a new place.

Interests

I'm into most sports and physical activities--extreme sports as well. Still haven't gone bungee jumping, but I've been paragliding in Nepal, skydiving in Holland, scuba diving in Philippines, surfing in Bali. I'm a singer songwriter and spend a lot of time with my guitar. I like to write and read and do a lot of both. I bought a camera recently and have been taking some online courses and shooting a lot of pictures.

Music, Movies, and Books

TV: Almost everything HBO, Rectify is probably my favorite show on TV now, The Wire is probably my all-time favorite.

Movies: I watch tons. Don't have a favorite. Recently I loved Interstellar, It Follows, General Orders No. 9, Vertigo, The Wolf of Wall Street...it's a long list.

Books: My top five authors these days are Cormac Mccarthy, James Lee Burke, James Clavell, George Martin, John Steinbeck. That could change tomorrow. Except Cormac. He'll be my number one forever.

Music: Recently I've been listening to a lot of Bon Iver, Bruce Springsteen, Tame Impala, The Forms, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Paul Simon...another long list.
