ABOUT ME

Interests, in no particular order: reading, people, writing, conversations, and music. Purpose of traveling: to pursue those interests through experiences and situations that are as varied as possible. Which may help to learn more about the world that gives me the sense of who I am. Or something, who knows, I really just enjoy traveling and people.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't have a specific philosophy as mine is always under construction, but I approach life with humility, wonder, and an a zeal for new experiences. I try to be responsible for my own happiness and find fun and beauty everwhere I go and within everyone I meet. Generally I find when you approach life with positivity that is what you get, both out of situations and people. So far its been fun.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Having studied political philosophy I am very much interested in how people interact and the idea of community. From my view one of the most effective ways to move towards eliminating conflict and providing enviroments condusive to happiness, interaction is the key. When people who historicaly see differences in eachother start to work, live, communicate, and socialize with eachother those differences take a back seat to the similarities. Couchsurfing is a great way to foster the social aspect of people throughout the world. Allowing travel to increase and social interaction evaporate percieved differences in favor of common understandings and compassion for eachother. I want to be a part of that process, it makes me smile.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed through parts of Europe and the US, after which and fell in love with the idea. All of my experiences have been amazing and have further convinced me of this community's positive qualities and potential for improving the world we live in.

My interests outside of philosophy are music, books, politics (i.e. social justice, the enviroment, sustainable farming to name a few), traveling, non-seriously playing sports and games, and being active.

My areas of knowledge are in politics, philosophy, and music. In any of these areas I love to share my views and beliefs as well as learn other's. I'm always curious, whether someone knows about science, art, bussiness, fashion, cycling, philosophy, music, film, needle point, go, irish folk dancing, it doesn't matter, I love to learn, and from other people is my favorite way.
