About Me

I am a down-to-earth person who wants to learn about the world and enjoy life. Like to cook, play tennis, teach stuff and have a wine with some friends on a warm summer night.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Heard about it from friends who had great experiences. Haven't had to ability to host anybody yet (living in a dorm), but now I'm renting a place, so game on!

Interests

Being with friends, having fun, jokes etc. Playing tennis, skiing, canoeing, doing sports. I would love to learn sailing and perfect my surfing knowledge :) Also like watching cartoons, series.

Music, Movies, and Books

More of a series-person than movies: Sherlock and Game of Thrones are my favourites.

I love the Godfather and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Books: Boris Vian: Autumn in Peking, bit of le Carré spy novels,

Music: Ratatat, Parov Stelar, Rammstein

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm currently teaching a class for 36 twentysomethings at a technical university. I used to be a very quiet person, easily intimidated, but have opened up slowly. This is still a great challenge, I need lots of preparation and a complete focus, but I love every minute of it. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to hit a nice backhand in tennis, how to ride a snowboard or the basics of windsurfing.
I can explain some stuff in fluid mechanics, but the more interesting ones, like how your ears detect where sound is coming from, how to make tea on Mt Everest or what a raindrop truly looks like.

I would love to try playing a saxophone, learn a bit of French or work on my German - or learn a new recipe.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Being an interested parner in a conversation.
On the materialistic side: I can cook for you :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia, Spain, Tunisia

Countries I’ve Lived In
