Overview
About Me
Hello Couchsurfing friends. My name is Tony. I am a citizen of The United Territories of The Sovereign Nation of The People's Republic of Slowjamastan, residing both on the east coast of the USA and in Japan.
I work in personal development and health care and have had the wonderful chance to couch surf around the USA and in Japan and Korea since getting active on this site in 2018.
I am an energy healing practitioner (Komyo ReikiDo) and innovative psychotherapist, a former ESL teacher, a US military vet, and musician. I love tenkara style fly-fishing, will eat anything accept natto, drink occasionally and responsibly, and thrive on finding good hiking spots and swimming spots. I am open minded and will try anything new.
I grew up in the Midwest of the US and have lived in Greece, Japan, Korea, Oman, and throughout the US in various stages of my life. I have two kids who are my world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined CouchSurfing in 2009 with the intent of... couch surfing. However, stages of life and being able to coordinate stays with friends, or friends of friends, during my travels have resulted in progressively forgetting about this site.
I reconnected with couch surfing in 2018 because of all of the great stories that I have heard from friends who have hosted guests, and who have been couch surfing guests. Since then I've had a chance to surf with people around the US and twice in Korea. I enjoy meeting new people, exploring new areas from a local person's perspective, and simply using travel as a way to have fun, learn, and experience life as a human being.
