ABOUT ME

My name is Sofia. I was born in Portugal and started traveling when I turned 18. This is probably one of the things I love doing the most.
Along this years I've been going to different cultural events, such as Boom Festival (PT), Burning Man (USA), Rainbow Gatherings (Portugal, Mexico...).
I love meeting new people and allowing myself to learn new points of view, new ways of dealing with situations, new ways of making things happen.

I've been traveling for the last two years and had amazing experiences pretty much everywhere, but now I'm trying to creat a home base where I can come back from my adventures.
At Burning 2014 I met the man who became my husband.
We travelled from the states across Mexico to Guatemala in our van and with all the challenges and laughs and cries, we realised we are meant to be (awwwww!! I know!!).
We love climbing, walking, camping, driving for hours through the mountains, music, festivals, netflix lazy days, arts, putting smiles on people's faces, sleeping, people watching, partying... And so much more.

I love cooking and making everything around me beautiful :)
I speak Portuguese, Spanish and English well, and I speak a little bit of French too.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I hosted people in my house a few years ago, who were going to a rainbow gathering in my country, and they told me about couchsurfing.
That was about the same time I started travelling more often, and became my way of doing it.
From then on, i recieved so many beautiful people and was hosted by the most amazing and sweet people in the world.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Burning Man!!
This was definitely a life changing experience, and I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with all this new knowledge and tools.

I drove a semi truck on my pijamas!!

I hicked on the the Big Sur.

I hitchhicked in Mexico for about 1200km for the 21rst December 2012.

I've crossed Mexico 3 times now. Once alone with my backpack, starting in Tijuana (not, it wasn't dangerous!).
Second time with a group of hippies in a van.
Third time with my own van with the man who is now my husband (I figured if he can handle a trip like this with me and still wanna stay, we can ride through life, no problem!)

I've done several ceremonies that deeply inspired my personal growth.

I've Loved, cried, smiled, danced thousand times, with million people... :)

I want to learn about mecanics and medicinal plants.
I want to learn about Nature in general.
I want to share the information about anything\everything as much as possible.
Robotics, wood, welding, painting, art craft, healing herbs and potions...

Whatever the subject is, I want to know about :)
