About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Practice Camus, "You cannot create experience. You must undergo it."
ABOUT ME
Residing in Prague but extremely stir-crazy.
During my undergrad, I lived in Denver, Los Angeles and Portland. Moved to San Francisco before coming over to the beautiful Czech Republic in November 2013, where I am now a student at Charles University. I'm at the Karolinka Fakulta sociálních věd for Central European comparative studies, if you are curious.
PHILOSOPHY
I haven't even come close to resolving all my philosophical questions. Right now I would like to learn as much as I can from different people and cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sporadically traveling is my favorite pastime and don't have a couch or anything, so hosting is a bit of an obstacle. I use CSing to meet people for other activities as well, last year I found a buddy to go from Croatia to Bosnia with and in 2014 I hitched with another CSer to Amsterdam. One great meet-up was to go sky-diving in Monterey, CA. I have made great friends and gone to whole new countries to explore with them, using CSing as a catalyst.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed around the west coast of the states and PNW. Went up to Canada and around Europe for a summer. The farthest trip I did was when I surfed in Israel. I've surfed with some amazing folk in Cali, Oregon, Washington, France, Scotland and started attending CS meetings in Eastern Europe! I have done some off-Couchsurfing surfing in Ghana and McleodGanj, India.
Interests
Currently I've been learning how to wheel-throw and hand-build pottery, it's amazing and hopefully I improve over time.
If you come to Prague and I'm around, I can show you my favorite crazy statues and sculptures.
My biggest interest is language. Seeing languages evolve and spread and change and grow is fascinating and something I have come to base my life around.
Music, Movies, and Books
When I first joined, I put up this massive list of everything. But now it's about five years outdated!
We can always talk about our interests, but for a general overview I avoid country music and read a lot of fantasy and general fiction.
I watch a good amount of movies and television, I'm sure I can find common ground with most people in those two categories :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking to Bosnia where I met the kindest Canadian. We walked aimlessly for hours until we found a little hill, sat down and watched a meteor shower before falling asleep in the grass! An experience I won't forget.
