ABOUT ME

Originally from a little town in England called Wigan (Home of Gandalf!) inbetween Liverpool and Manchester. I love meeting up with people who have similar interests and happy to show them around places I know or explore new places I dont. Gigs, festivals and events usually get me out and about.
I studied East Asian Studies with Japanese at university a few years ago and I am now living in Japan as an 英語の先生 English teacher.

I can sometimes offer a spare bed, but I usually participate by arranging meetings or joining events.

So far, so good. Had lots of fun exploring, hiking and chatting with many couchsurfers from all over the world.

Interests

Music, movies, games, cycling, trekking, climbing, kayaking, flying, poker, bass guitar, environment, wildlife, food and drink...
East Asia. I have been studying the region and trying to learn Japanese for several years.
HBO TV dramas; from late 90's OZ and the Sopranos to current marvels such as Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of movies and try to watch a few every week!
I can appreciate music from almost any genre and go to festivals such as Glastonbury, Download and Soundwave when I can. Mostly metal, rock, jazz and country at the moment! (KORN is the band I have seen the most)
Reading wise, pretty much anything by Robin Hobb. Currently enjoying Frank Herbert's DUNE!
Always had an interest in video games since picking up my first joystick on the Atari 2600. I find it hard to turn down a good RPG or RTS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mt. Fuji, snorkelled Cairns, surfed Sydney, shooting Arizona...
