About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to diffuse rhythm and good music all over the world.

ABOUT ME

In my entire life I switched five times the place I was living and moved through about ten different apartments, so I guess joining the CS-Community was my purpose. In order to that I got to know a lot of people and was travelling around as soon I had holiday.
I stayed half a year in Brazil, lived four years in Vienna, and passed the rest of my time between Berlin and Göttingen in Germany.
At the moment I live with 5 other people in a flat in Berlin (Neukölln) where I am studying physics. Pretty nerdy I guess, but I try to make the best out of it :)
Besides that I would describe myself as a pretty active person. I love to dance in the sunshine and grab a beer or two. I think the best description is always what other people say about you. So don´t hesitate to read the references.

PHILOSOPHY

You don't have to be the best nor the fastest.
Really, you don't.
Just enjoy life and let me tell you a secret:
'The gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed.'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to go to the Couchsurfing Events, even though I don't really do it often. But when I get my lazy body up it is always great. Besides that I host sometimes and as soon as I got holiday I try to get away and meet foreign cultures. Couchsurfing is an awesome opportunity to do that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great seven-week-trip to Brazil with a friend in 2009. We met so many great people and I am just lookting forward to meet Couchsurfers all over the world.
I guess everybody is dreaming of his own Matt Dance.
Overall definitely a totally positive experience.

Interests

I really like to do sports. I never did it professional but I always enjoyed moving my body. My prefered sport is basketbal I guess, even though I love to play some ultimate frisbee, football, volleyball, badminton, squash or pingpong as well.
Another thing I am totaly mad about (should have put it first) is music. I grew up in a pretty musical family and I loved listenig to music since I was a child. But also dancing and playing soon became important to me.
Even though I never did it really professional either I continuesly played music in differend bands and enjoyed that. At the momtent I play in a percussion band and I love the people there. It´s just alot of fun.
Well, last but not least, travelling is definitely one of my favorite interests.

One couldn't say that there is a specific type of genre I enjoy. It's more a certain type of writing I like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in Thailand for the first time of my life - breathing underwater while watching so much beautiful fish, trying to concentrate on the teacher, trying to learn the diving-language. But always catching myself watching the fish again...

Lately I've been to an awesome Festival, which was made with so much love that couldn't belive it. That was simply beautiful and worth being written here.

My first Couchsurfing experience in Brazil. Overwhelming.

Passing the 1st May in Berlin - between brutality and violence during the demonstration and love, peace, happiness at a great open air outdoor party later 100 Meters away.

Teach, Learn, Share
