About Me

CURRENT MISSION

drawing comics

ABOUT ME

I'm lovely. I am also pretty decent at drawing.

PHILOSOPHY

You can't, like, own a potato, man. It's one of Mother Earth's creatures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a spare room with two beds in it. It's not overwhelmingly central, but it's a sleepable surface, and getting to and from the airport from here is relatively lacking in awkwardness. Could use somewhere to sleep if I go anywhere. Might draw something.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Went to Ireland to see a girl I'd never met before. Have had the occasional person sleep on the couch, only one of which we met through couchsurfing.

Interests

I like walking around and looking at nothing in particular.

I also draw comics and make clumsily programmed computer games, primarily in gamemaker and ren'py.

And I care about politics.

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to read a lot of books. Somewhat less now. As a kid I wanted to be a writer. Part of me still does.

I have also read hordes of comics, but american superhero fiction is an almost complete blindspot. I find it difficult to pick a favourite. On a related note, I'm sort of hoping the death of Moebius will inspire rereleases of his work, making it easier to come by.

Grew up with Lucasarts adventuregames and the first wave of nordic freeware (Liero, Quadnet, Jump'n'Bump, Sumo Hoppers, and so on), as well as a SNES. I still know a fair amount about indie games, I still follow Tim Schafer wherever he goes, and I still play console games, though the SNES itself is starting to feel its age.

The single most heavily represented music-genre on my mp3-player is probably punk, but it's still only about 10%.

And I rather like butoh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess I could go on about nordic comic culture, if that is of interest, or about freeware games in the 90s (or now, for that matter, but I assume that knowledge is far more widespread). Or I could try to give some pointers on drawing and colouring and killing your darlings.
