Overview
About Me
I am a dyed in the wool urbanite with a deep desire to live in the jungle, or the mountains, or some other place where you don't hear car horns. Books are my favorite thing in the universe and people are my favorite animals. I want to know something about everything. I want to meet anyone who can give me a fresh perspective. I like good questions as much as I like the corresponding answers; sometimes more. I like baking, my ukulele, and late-night walks. I like things that start with the letter W. I like spontaneity and my willingness to say YES! might be both my best and worst quality. Yoga is a pretty important part of my life, because it keeps me sane and balanced. I've been writing poetry longer than I've done anything else really. All I really want to do is experience as much life as I can while I still can.
Let you be you, and let me be me. I believe in kindness & respect for every one & thing. I believe in experience. I believe that the power of love is the greatest power. I believe that positivity is the key to changing the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interests
Almost anything that can be filed under "the arts," hiking and biking, dive bars, dancing like a fool, cooking and baking, useless trivia (which will, granted, be useful when i make my game-show millions), things that grow and how to grow them (vegetables, flowers, ideas, love, etc), tattoos, distractions, ukulele, the sociological imagination, and spending time with people who challenge me, make me laugh, and make me think.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Lost Horizon, the Phantom Tollbooth, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, the Stranger, the Little Prince, Nine Stories, Franny & Zooey, Roald Dahl (especially his adult fiction), David Sedaris, Truman Capote (especially In Cold Blood), Richard Brautigan, Samuel Beckett, Jack Gilbert, Jon Krakauer, Walt Whitman, Pablo Neruda, Mary Oliver, Agatha Christie, Garcia Marquez, last on the list but first in my heart Kurt Vonnegut
Movies: Annie Hall, Almost Famous, Casablanca, Cry-baby (and everything else John Waters), Cohen brothers, Amelie, Harold and Maude, Pulp Fiction, Roman Holiday, Lost in Translation, the Jerk, Coffee and Cigarettes...
Musically I can be somewhat fanatical, rock and roll is in my bones but I'm open to pretty much anything... the main ones are: Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Otis Redding, Wavves, Led Zeppelin, Wilco, Kanye, the White Stripes, the Velvet Underground, Patti Smith, Django Reindhart, Frank Zappa, K'naan, Devendra Banhart, Immortal Technique, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Serge Gainsbourg and my friends playing sweet melodies on my couch late at night...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time I crashed my car going 70 mph into the median of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Not only did I and my two friends walk away unscathed but it ended up being one of the most fun nights/days ever.
Forging a close relationship that transgresses cultural, generational and language barriers.
I love mountaintops and skydiving as much as anyone, but I find the smaller things the most amazing, in that they stick the longest.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have the world's best brownie recipe. The art of late-night philosophy. Blowing perfect smoke rings. Bad jokes. Good jokes, sometimes. Poetry, sometimes.
As far as learning, I'm interested in whatever you want to share. Also, swear words in as many languages as possible.
