About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To breath deeply and soak it all in. To learn how to be me and not be afraid to share that with other people. To enjoy the journey.

ABOUT ME

I really enjoying creating whether it's with clay, fabric, wood, paint, whatever's around. I don't create just for the sake of creating but want what I make to have meaning or serve a purpose. I enjoy watching other people make their art and express themselves through the medium of their choice. I enjoy cooking tasty vegetables for people who don't like veggies, going to venues I've never been to before and listening to my friends' bands, impromptu dance parties, breathing in fresh mountain air, tasting sea water, eating ice cream in the snow, taking apart my bike and pretending I can put it back together, hanging upside down from monkey bars, and definitely playing with my puppy (absolutely one of my favorite things to do). I jump into just about everything without really thinking about it, which can get me into trouble, but it's the only way I know how to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined but am excited to attend events and become apart of the CS community!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It wasn't through this site, but I lived in a warehouse in Brooklyn for a couple years with 15 other people. Our couches were always available for crashing and were almost always in use by friends or friends of friends. There were a couple of times we couldn't figure out how our couchsurfers had found out about us the connection was so long and complex but it was a great experience hearing about and contributing to people's traveling adventures. The part of having various visitors I enjoyed the most was cooking a meal together with everyone contributing a favorite dish and enjoying each others company as we ate our scrumptious feast.

Interests

What am I not interested in? I want to learn, experience and share as much as I can and don't want to exclude anything!

Music, Movies, and Books

The movies that have stuck with me the most are from my childhood: Labyrinth, The Lost Boys, Legend, and The Abyss. I've seen them all way too many times to count.

With books, I'm a huge fan of modern literature and the lost generation (Joyce, Hemingway, Stein, Barnes, McKay, etc). I love Grapes of Wrath and other classics like Tess of the D'Ubervilles. And I adore Neil Gaiman and anything he goes near.

I listen to all kinds of music and am always open to hearing new bands. I love anything that's upbeat and makes me want to dance (which is just about anything).

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach ceramics but I can also sew and knit. I was vegan for about 4 years and can bake just about anything without eggs or dairy.
