About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling from Vancouver (BC) to San Francisco by Public Transit

ABOUT ME

"if you were a flavour of ice-cream..."

i'm from vancouver, british columbia (in canada). working and studying there. geography. very cool stuff. enjoy being a wanderer and a bit of an epicurean. avid cyclist. love beer. wonderful drink. i like staying in. i like going out. i don't usually go out drinking too much...but if push comes to shove, i can probably drink you under the table. which i suppose is a talent, when you consider that i'm a tiny, tiny man.

two little things, just FYI:

1. i'm gay, but i don't make a deal out of it.
2. i'm not a fan of hard drugs.

PHILOSOPHY

the goal of life is the responsible pursuit of pleasure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, most of my couches have been well-surfed since i joined CS! I'm generally open to meeting new and interesting people from around the world.

Interests

aie...good food, sexy music, sexy people (it's more than looks or sexual attractiveness!), getting lost in foreign cities and towns, cycling and associated weirdness, some progressive politics, writing and reading (more the former than the latter).

star wars, the science of sleep, dancer in the dark

ishmael, the death and life of great american cities, the catcher in the rye, the city in history (i really need to read more)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

run a rock concert with 16,000 drunkards in attendance.

convince nearly 300 people to engage in an act of civil disobedience.

seen the magic of democracy: without saying whether he's good or bad, the experience of seeing the protests after sarkozy's election in france is a memory i will hold forever.

Teach, Learn, Share

i guess i'm great at knowing general, weird facts about how cities work. and i dig politics. and i can teach you how to speak french enough to order a beer and hit on the bartender. and i can teach you how to repair your bike. and i'm a fantastic cook...so yay to that.
