About Me

****************Please have references before you write to me asking if you can stay on my couch This is a very important layer that ensures I keep myself, my wonderful space, and my fantastic roommate safe. ***************

Additionally, we keep our couch, apartment, and space clean :) It's really nice and we ask that you do the same while you're here. Please be respectful. Keep yourself the shower, the kitchen, the couch, and anywhere else clean!

CURRENT MISSION

World Peace through Laughter

ABOUT ME

I love laughter,
nature,
comedy,
sharing,
banter,
good listeners,
good talkers,
exploration,
travel,
hiking,
spontaneous jam sessions,
live accapella,
change,
being the right temperature,
trees,
vegetables,
positivity,
being productive,
feeling appreciated,
getting what I deserve,
and deserving what I get.

PHILOSOPHY

I genuinely believe that every time people laugh, success was had. Where there is laughter, there is no anger.

I believe in being happy, joyous, and free.
In doing what you love and the money will come.
In the goodness of people.
In a hard days work.
In reaping what you sow.
In gardening.
I believe that life is fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

What a wonderful community!
I have both slept on dozens of couches and hosted dozens of people. I have met the best of friends on this site. People that are in my life forever!

I think that opening your home AND being open to others hospitality is the way to live -- not to mention the only true way to experience a town.
You can only keep joy if you give it away! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had so many!

Near the beginning was Costa Rica:
I met Randall. His profile seemed, well, brutally honest, but I thought I would give him a try. We arrived at his home and...(it's here that I wish I could take my heart out and put it in yours so you would feel how truly giving and kind this individual is)...it was like heaven -- a sanctuary for the weary. Randall took us in. I felt safe and wanted. It was incredible. He made me feel like I wanted to give him everything I had. My heart and soul. His warmth was infectious and he had personality oozing from his skin. We got to see San Ramon (where he lives) from a local perspective and goodness does he know how to have a good time!!

Interests

I love the outdoors.
I like rock climbing and being one with nature.
I love sign language. And giving what I have to others.
I'm trusting. I am happy.
I love laughter, playing, and being messy. I love children and animals and people. I am interested in...being, living, and in you!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a voracious reader and love to chat books :)
Currently I am reading The Art of Possibility, by a brilliant couple with unbounded positive energy! The book is designed to entice people to accomplish the extraordinary. It's quite inspiring.

Next on my list is The God of Small Things - Arundhatt Roy. So, if you've read it...let's talk about it when you visit! Also, please don't give away the ending :)

My top 8:
Ann of Green Gables -- L. Maud Montgomery
The Sacred Balance -- D. Suzuki (Loved!)
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle -- B. Kingsolver (changed my life)
Catch 22 -- J. Heller (wholly vocabulary!)
Middelsex -- J. Eugenides (Pulitzer Prize)
Born to Run -- C. McDougall
The China Study -- T. Colin Campbell
A Prayer for Owen Meany -- J. Irving

I would love your book suggestions but PLEASE, bring a copy with you. It's nearly impossible for me to access literature on this island. I am very remote :)
