My 'mission objective' is to see as much of the world and experience as many weird, wonderfull and wacky cultures and hopefully meet many new friends along the way!

ABOUT ME

I like to think of myself as a pretty simple(not simple minded though haha),laid back, chilled out, easy goin, fun loving kinda guy, Im pretty confident and easy to get along with.

Being born and raised in Perth i love pretty much everything and anything to do with the ocean and it still seems to captivate me in such a way that i just cant describe! I can sit on the beach and stare out into the waves for hours just thinkin about well, everything and anything!!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately at the moment I'm a 'Maybe' because I have just taken up a new fly in fly out job at a mine site north of Perth. Im away working for 3 weeks at a time and only home for 1 so I moved back in with my parents because it was just easier.
PM me if your interested and ill let you know the dates I'm in Perth. Even if I'm not actually hosting I'm sure I can find the time to be your 'tour guide' ;) or even just someone to have a beer with!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few people back in 2011 in my bungalow on Koh Tao but unfortunately that was before i was a member on this site, i actually hosted through a friends site because he had no room at the time but we didnt want to leave them hangin!
2 chicks and a bloke at separate times. We got along well and I showed them around the island and helped them book onward ferries and other accom etc.
It was a good experience and I felt good helping out people when they need it so I figured Id sign up!

I love the ocean and everything to do with it and I thrive on leaning new things and am constantly reading science books/mags and watching documentaries.
Chilling with friends and having a beer
I love my music and I don't go far without my headphones so I can just zone out and go into my own lil space.
I'm also currently learning acoustic guitar, slowly...haha

And of course travel,experiencing the different cultures and customs of other countries!

Music, Movies, and Books

Any documentaries, specially by David Attenborough!
I enjoy all movies from the Disney/Pixar kiddy flicks to cult classics like Aliens, Predator, Terminator, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels etc.

I listen to Reggae, Blues n Roots, Folk Rock, pretty much anything laid back and chilled out. At the moment I'm loving The Beautiful Girls, The Cat Empire, Ash Grunwald, John Butler Trio.
I enojy heavy metal and psychedelic sorta rock like System Of A Down and Karnivool but also get into house music and just all sorts of random stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen whalesharks, various other sharks, manta rays, turtles and all sorts of other awesome marine creatures from big to small!

One amazing experience, although not quite in as positive circumstances, was when I lived on Koh Tao for 6 months. About 3 months in we had the biggest storms the island had seen for decades. It flooded the towns, stopped ferries and supply boats, damaged stores and multiple hotels/bungalows. But to see tourists get together with the Thai locals and work towards cleaning everything up was a real humbling experience and to pitch in and do my bit to help my Thai friends id made made me feel really good and they really appreciated it.
