Hi there, we're Charlotte (24) and Xavier (23), we currently live in the United Kingdom.

We both hold British nationality, although we have spent most of our lives living abroad and consider ourselves "citizens of the world".

Charlotte was raised in Hong Kong for the best part of 23 years. Charlotte is fluent in English and spoken Cantonese and grew up identifying with both Western and Asian cultures. At the age of 16, Charlotte took her first solo backpacking trip to Tokyo, Japan and hasn't stopped exploring the world since.

Xavier holds dual British-French nationality and spent his childhood growing up in Germany and in the UK. Xavier has a passion for languages and is fluent in English, French and German. After University, Xavier moved to Hong Kong to pursue an alternative life is Asia.

These experiences are what inspired our love for traveling.

From diving with Caribbean reef sharks in the flawless Turks and Caicos Islands to trekking into the depths of the Borneo rainforest, our adventurous spirit has led us on a journey to over 30 countries across the globe.

We love learning about new cultures, meeting new people and trying exotic foods. We like to act like a tourist in our own city and frequently explore our surroundings whether that's a nearby village or country park. We appreciate nature and wildlife and like to camp, hike mountains, chase waterfalls and take walks on the beach. Oh, and we do love a good BBQ!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are relocating to Australia as of February 2017 on a Working Holiday visa and will be traveling down the East coast on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

We look forward to immersing ourselves in the local culture, exchanging stories and meeting new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

We are very open minded on all things entertainment.

We both love electronic, deep house, acoustic and overall chilled-out music.

As for movies/ TV, our feel-good show is "Planet Earth". By the way, if you haven't already watched "Planet Earth ll" (2016), we highly recommend you do!

We have also had numerous "Game of Thrones", "Breaking Bad", "Dexter" and "Narcos" marathons too.

Charlotte studied documentary film making in New York City, USA, so naturally she loves all things documentary. Her favourites include "Searching for Sugarman", "Gasland", and "Man on Wire". She's also a huge fan of Louis Theroux and David Attenborough.

She secretly loves all Disney films too, especially "Toy Story" and "Finding Dory".

Xavier enjoys thriller, action and comedy films, and his top 3 films include "Inception", "The Other Guys" and "Role Models".

One of Xavier's pass times us reading, he loves the "Famous 5" and the "Harry Potter" series, whilst Charlotte enjoys picking up a travel and adventure book/ magazine.

We can offer good company as we are both sociable and intellectual individuals, who appreciate interesting conversations and philosophies.

We are also keen cooks and would love to share our favorite dishes with our hosts.

Having lived on our own since we were 18 years old, we are very independent, organised, tidy and clean. We would be sure to treat your home with respect and would be more than happy to help out with any chores around the house that may be required of us.
