Middle-aged cycling fan, live in small house with elderly cat. I'm not a mega-greenie, but I care about the environment, try to minimise plastic bag use and cycle to work. I work in the operating theatre of a busy hospital. I enjoy beer and wine, and I'm trying to get to grips with the "moderation" concept. Love food, especially steak and chocolate, but not together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm planning a cycling trip to France / Italy next year, and I'm "paying it forward" in reverse. Hoping to meet new people and make new friends from other countries and cultures.

Offering 3 night stays but if things go well you can probably stay longer. Not interested in hosting people who are looking for work / working / using my home as a place to hang out and save money. I want you to go out and see stuff - the beach is not far away and it's free.

I dislike receiving guests late in the day - if you can't get here by 20.30, you'd better book a hostel or hotel for the night and come to me the next day. If something happens that delays you - communicate. Don't think it's OK to turn up at 23.00 - it isn't.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Room with double bed (if travelling together but not a couple have spacious couch). Share bathroom. Full use of kitchen, washing machine & clothes line. Small backyard. If cycling have some tools. House is located close to shops, cafes, restaurants & metropolitan train station. Ducted heating and air con. 2km from beach. Wi-Fi.
