Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have couch surfed in Rhode Island once and then a few times in 2010 New Zealand. It's been an AMAZING experience to meet new people from these new places we visit. We've both been blown away with the kindness and trustworthy experiences we have over and over again. It's really instilled a sense of global community in us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The Rhode Island experience was an adventure. It was the dead of winter and it was a kid that lived in a warehouse building with heat that was just above freezing. He was good company and it's a fun story to tell.

Our New Zealand experiences were just outstanding! Kiwi's are SOOOO lovely and welcoming. We both just loved meeting all of our hosts, bringing them wine, dinning with them, and just chatting & getting to know them. It's just a wonderful way to see a new place and get a feel for the local people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Michael: I like good movies, music, and books, and I'm not a huge fan of bad movies, music, and books.

Heidi: I read a lot of biographical works, but enjoy the classics, too. I'm a pretty big fan of the "Rom Com" (romantic comedy), but not enough to have a TV.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Heidi: Traveled to 10 countries in 100 days on a Semester at Sea!

Michael: Studied with the glass masters in Italy for 2 years and speaks fluently.
