CURRENT MISSION

To build my Non-profit Youth Foundation and provide positive opportunities for young people so they can escape the cycle of poverty, violence, drug abuse, and the lack of education. A man once said, “I'm not saying I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that WILL change the world.”

ABOUT ME

I'm a compassionate person who wants to contribute to our world in any way I can. There is nothing more important to me than helping people who cannot help themselves. I began building my own Non-Profit Youth Foundation in 2012 (Youth Project Foundation). In February of 2014, I moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in order to help with projects that aim to bring new and innovative ways of providing opportunities for the beautiful children of the favelas of Brazil. Sine then, I've lived in Medellin and Bogota, Colombia as well as Panama City, doing the same kind of work. I'm headed to Mexico City on July 20th to seek out and spend time with local youth projects. I can't describe how excited I am to live in DF!!!

I was born in Mississippi in the United States. Since then, I've lived in Portland, Oregon, Hawaii, Sri Lanka, France, Las Vegas, Toronto, Rio de Janeiro, Medellin, Bogota, and Panama Ciry! I'm an extremely social person who loves to meet new people and share experiences and ideas. I'm also very active. I regularly go to the gym and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

PHILOSOPHY

I sincerely believe in living my life with the highest level of respect, honour, and loyalty to myself and the people around me. I believe that we all have the ability to help someone. Helping people can make us all better as individuals in our beautiful world!

Travelling gives us a chance to see the world in so many different lenses and perspectives. I've visited 74 countries and I'm not done....

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I'm in Mexico City, I'm looking to couch surf in order to meet interesting people and learn more about the local way of life. I'm very clean and organized so I will be an extremely accommodating couch surfer! I thank you for letting me surf with you!

I have so many friends who have couch surfed and I have always heard such amazing things about it. I'm very excited at the opportunity to meet kind people who share a passion for being the best person they can be!

Interests

I love American Football. I'm a HUGE San Francisco 49ers fan!
No seriously, I'm obsessed with my team!

I really enjoy playing team sports and health & fitness. Being active is amazing for your mind, body, and soul!

Education is very important to me. I truly believe that Education is the passport to all our futures!

Cooking is something I enjoy a great deal! I love to cook for friends! I'll be sure to cook you one of my signature dishes. I have quite a few!

I like reading a good book or watching a great movie. But, as long as it's with incredible people, I also love going out, having some drinks, and dancing the night away!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in a secluded forrest on top of a mountain in Sri Lanka for a month with Buddhist monks, in complete silence! I learned how to meditate during that experience. It changed my life and taught me who I really was.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been a high school teacher and youth service worker in North America. I have 10 years of University Education in Political Science, History, and Education. I love school and I love teaching! The most amazing part of teaching is that you are constantly learning at the same time. To teach is to learn something twice!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm on a 5 year trip around the world. If I happen to have an apartment with a couch, I'd be happy to host you! Just give me a shout and see if I do.
