Hi there!
My name is Liza. I grew up in Moscow and moved to Amsterdam in 2018.
Now I'm doing PhD in biophysics, and it takes most of my thoughts and time. But still, there are some other things which are important to me.
I like having good conversations, not just the ones needed to be a part of the society, but the ones which open to you another one's personality. I'm not an extravert, but I like to meet new people and to get to know them, see how they live their lives.
I am a fan of beauty. Looking regularly at some beautiful things, such as the sky, rivers, mountains, some people, paintings and other art, houses and so on, really makes me feel better.
Another source of fulfilment for me is some body-related activity, like dancing, yoga or sport. They all in different ways change your body and mind state, and I think it's cool way to get or release your energy. Well, the last thing may sound a bit spiritual, but that's not what I meant, I don't have any big philosophy behind this, I just like to practice and see how it feels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A more philosophical answer would be that I want to live in a friendly world where people care about each other and can even sometimes sacrifice their own comfort to make another person's life better. Couchsurfing is a small model of such a world.
A more practical answer is that it's very cool, you can meet so many different people, which you would hardly meet in your usual life. And it's a great possibility to live at local's places and see the culture from inside because people and their houses can tell you much more than guided tours around the city. And in the end, making such a net of friends all over the world is just very handy.
