À propos de moi

I'm 30, an aspiring writer, and currently backpacking around in the Northern Hemispher. Left my job, my ice hockey team, and my house in San Jose, California in June '17, and have been living out of my tent, hostels, and the occasional apartment ever since. Love to have a laugh, discover good music, not take life too seriously, and get out into nature as much as possible.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

To meet new people while I'm traveling the world. I'm very open-minded, and like to hear people's stories and maybe get a few tips on where to go next. I'm a fairly decent cook, and handy with DIY stuff, so I'm happy to return the favor to anyone willing to put up with me. I'm fairly new to couchsurfing, having learned about it from other travelers after I'd already started my trip, but I have a spare room, a couch, and a record collection I'll be excited to share with other surfers... once I get home.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Love Music, and going to shows. Mostly indie stuff. I miss my record collection more than I miss some of my friends... is that bad? I play guitar (not very well) too. I love movies, especially dark comedies and old-school samurai films. I don't do horror, though. I read a fair amount as well, mostly fiction. I'm fairly well-read, and am filling in some gaps in my knowledge of the classics with some more self-indulgent fare.

Favorite Band: Fruit Bats
Favorite Movie: Seven Samurai
Favorite Book: Into the Wild

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Got off the train in Finse, Norway, with just a backpack, and walked for two weeks until I found myself at the top of Galdhøpiggen, the tallest mountain in Northern Europe.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach English, or at least whatever slang we speak in Northern California. I can teach ice skating, a bit of guitar, or any other random skills I have. And I'm happy to learn and share anything you'd like to share with me.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

A lot of bad jokes. Maybe a few stories. I'm a fairly decent cook, and I'm happy to prepare meals. I'm also quite handy with DIY stuff around the house if there's anything that needs to be fixed.
