About Me

An Australian traveller currently living and working in East London since November 2014.

Just hit the road again and travelling until the end of June 2016. Returning to Melbourne, Australia to commence my masters in Environmental Studies

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's fun! I love meeting and sharing with new people from all around the world. I also love learning about places to visit/things to do that I've never thought of before.

Primarily hosted in Melbourne. Always has positive hosting, couch surfing experiences have all been off-the-record cases primarily.

Whenever my housemates or I have a friend or friends in town, or people/ travellers we have met, the couch is always available to them. But I'm pretty generous and give up my bed (the couch is not too bad). The same usually occurs when I'm traveling around.

Interests

Travelling off the beaten track. Mostly weird and wonderful places. A combination between old buildings and modern art.

Books. Recently finished a collection of essays by George Orwell and The World until Yesterday by anthropologist/evolutionary biologist Jared Diamond.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books! I do enjoy books that have a bit of cultural or political satire associated with them, such as Mikhail Bulgakov or Charles Bukowski. Also a big fan of science writing from Oliver Sacks and Jared Diamond. Also love Haruki Murakami.

A super broad taste, anything from trashy 90's pop to electronic, punk & hardcore, folk, soul, hip-hop. Once again just ask ;)

I enjoy a diverse range of film and TV series. The only answer I have is The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Simpsons and David Attenborough documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fossil dig in rural Australia looking for megafauna and also a bit of a dinosaur dig

Hiking around one of the worlds largest active volcanoes in Japan.

Going to a rave in an ex-bomb shelter in St. Petersburg

Teach, Learn, Share

Currently training as an english teacher, so I currently have that to share.

Otherwise I'm a pretty decent vegan cook, I make coffee/cocktails for a living, can tell you about plants/animals/growing food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some pretty mean cooking skills, how to brew a great cup of tea, and learning to grow your own fresh produce.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, Russian Federation

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, United Kingdom
