About Me

I'm an ENFP, which means a good conversation about the nature of reality or our feelings or cake will energize me, and a libra, which means I’m caring, deliberative, and willing to embrace sudo-science in the name of good fun. I really enjoy intellectual conversation, warm-hearted people, watching movies/sharing favorite content, walks/hikes, sharing great food, and new experiences. A couple things I love to talk about include community facilitation, counseling/development work, tea, fermentation, Korean cooking, deconstructionism, and poetry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am excited about the way couch surfing makes travel more connected, more personal, and more affordable. I want to be a part of communities where people connect face-to-face with strangers from all across the world, where we facilitate and provide for each other. I don't have great interactions with strangers every day, but I find the days i do, it energizes me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like a wide variety of genres with some top faves including Panic at the Disco!, Beirut, Patty Griffin, TuneYards, Sarah Bareilles, The Front Bottoms, The Killers, and Parov Stellar.

Movies: I love The Fall, Wolf Children, Amelie, and The Dark Knight (but who doesn't?).

Books: I love If on a Winter's Night a Traveller (or anything by Italio Calvino), Anna Karinina, Unbearable Lightness of Being, Le Petit Prince, The Prophet, Demain by Herman Hesse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taken a hike backwards. Sometimes, you just need to remind yourself that a change in perspective is always available to us and it can be as simple as doing something socially non-prescriptive. Turn yourself around and have a great walk!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach how to make homemade mozzarella, anything you could want to know about ice cream, introduce some perspective shifting lenses for analyzing Shakespeare (if you happen to enjoy any of his plays), how to make your own makeup, or kombucha, or pickles, or laundry detergent.

I want to learn to better speak French, or Japanese. I love to learn crafts, or have someone teach me a bit of guitar or ukulele. Or really anything, if you're passionate, I'm probably interested.

Love to share food crafts, kombucha, and content. Podcasts, interesting youtube channels, books, movies, favorite anime. Also love to go on an adventure--biking, trivia, hiking, another meetup, go to a cool food thing, whatevs.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a twin sized air mattress, or if you prefer, our big fluffy couch or a spot on the floor with blankets and pillows, as well as a shower, some toothpaste. Tea, both caffeinated and regular. Depending on the day, I could possibly put up a homemade meal--probably something cheap and simple, like a pot of miso soup, english muffin pizzas, or a rice bowl. But full of love, darnit.
