Overview
About Me
I used couch surfing to stay in different places throughout Europe, so now I am paying it back. I have a older small house in Washington DC available for travelers to stay in a room. I did just sell the house so I have moved out most of my stuff and only have a small table, two chairs, and a few dishes. I do have wifi and cable but no TV currently. While it's nothing special, I can certainly offer a roof over your head and a place to cook meals. Sleeping arrangements would be on a futon, I do not have any extra formal sheets but do have a pillow and blanket you can use.
I was born in Canada and am Canadian but now I live and work in the USA. I work as an Engineer doing project management for large government buildings and apartment building construction in D.C. I love the outdoors, skiing and hiking. My father brews beer and I am an avid lover of craft beer. I always have loved traveling and meeting new people from all over the world. I went to high school and grade school at a boarding school so I got to meet many people from different countries.
My only rules are that you respect my property and clean up after yourself. If you want to bring a small gift from wherever youre travelling, I'd really appreciate it (I do collect shot glasses from all over the world)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Both my parents and my brother traveled Europe after finishing their education and I have heard so much, not only about the places they went but about the wonderful people they met. When my parents traveled they did not have couchsurfing.com but they met many lifelong friends who have come to stay on our couches many times. My brother traveled last summer and used Couchsurfing to meet many new friends also. In general, I just LOVE meeting new people and learning about new cultures. I used couchsurfing while traveling Europe so now I am offering up my house to other travelers.
