Overview
About Me
Educator and performance artist from the USA. I've been teaching in Spain for the past year and a half, first in Madrid, and now in A Coruña. As you may have already seen, I studied neuroscience and theatre, but I am also passionate about languages, neurophilosophy, circuses, human rights, and human ecology. Basically, I care deeply about intersectionality, the complex and simple ways in which everything in the world is connected.
I firmly believe that every moment gives us an opportunity to learn something new, and I am gladly accepting the role of student of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the communal aspect of couchsurfing. Meeting people nearby and thousands of miles away is an amazing thing to do, for those of us with the privilege to do it. My first experience as a guest was incredible, and inspired me to keep looking into the ways of couchsurfing. I feel this site and associated community allow for openness and genuine human contact, which I feel we are slowly losing on a larger scale.
What's more, the notion of reciprocal housing exchange (albeit indirectly, in a karma sort of way) speaks to my anti-capitalist heart. Support and community-building are important steps in battling oppression. I hope to be in a position myself someday to offer housing and safe space to those who need it.
Obviously, and most immediately felt, I love seeing new people and places; different perspectives, languages, and geographical locations shape who we are and make the world a richer, more beautiful place. Sharing our cultural and personal knowledge with others, and receiving theirs with gratitude and respect, are responsibilities I feel we have as citizens of the global community. Little by little, I try to do my part...

Music, Movies, and Books
Lately, I've been in the headspace of Lana Del Rey, but I am also a strong supporter of Nicki Minaj, and will always come back to Sia. Flamenco and europop are some other favorites. Anything by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey.
"Clue" is, without reservation, my favorite movie. Yes, we can watch it together. No, I can't promise I won't laugh hysterically the entire time.
As for books, I usually go for non-fiction, but "The Phantom Tollbooth" and "The Theif of Always" are always at the top of my recommendation list.
