About Me

Hello! I’m Tyler, a British guy backpacking, excited by exploring the cultures of all the areas I’m lucky enough to visit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be able to immerse myself in the daily life of local people, learn from them and to travel in a more authentic way. I am not a hotel person and prefer to get a real view of a place from those that live there. It’s sad to leave a country and feel like you’ve not done it justice by trying to connect with native people to at live there. It’s the easiest way I’ve found to learn about another place.

Interests

Massively interested in the human experience from every different perspective. I love to learn a new dish or pick up some advice about where to go/what to do next.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love jazz, soul, reggae and 90s Hip-Hop. Big fan of movies with my favourites of all time probably being Apocalypse Now, Shawshank (ofc), Forrest Gump and Godfather 1 & 2. I am an avid reader and love reading everything from The Count of Monte Cristo to Trainspotting. I’ve slowly been working my way through the classics while travelling but often I take whatever I can find on the road.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing i’ve done (so far) was to leave home. It’s always been my dream to travel and i’ve loved meeting people along the way. Volunteering, mountain climbing, wild camping, visiting the desert, all the experiences so far have been pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am passionate about learning from other people everything I can about their culture, sharing stories and creating new memories. I hope I’m able to share some insight into what life is like in England and share perspectives with fellow travellers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An enthusiasm, conversation and hopefully a new friendship.
