Overview
About Me
I am pretty laid back. I enjoy adventure, music, art, history, drinking, film, reading, meditation, etc. I've traveled the United States, Europe, and a little piece of Mexico. I write songs and poetry. I feel a deep kinship with Nature, and I also love the chaos of cities. I work as an artistic painter, musician, and build fences and wash dishes in downtown Asheville, NC currently.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To make new friends, see new places, and create new stories.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like a wide range of music - mostly anything that feels authentic. Currently I'm into Yoko Ono, The Felice Brothers, R. E. M., Brian Eno, William Basinsky, and my own stuff which is experimental noise and country folky stuff, with kind of a dream like psychedelic twist. I like enjoying most any kind of music with people though. I don't care what you listen to, there is something of value to it all.
I just recently watched a documentary about John and Yoko that I recommend. I'm in the second season of Twin Peaks. I like David Lynch's films. He turned me on to transcendental meditation. I like Jim Jarmusch's films. I appreciate legitimately engaging and well thought out documentaries about alien abductions and encounters.
I'm reading "George Lucas: A Life" right now. "Catcher In The Rye", "Flowers of Evil", "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", "Moby Dick", "Kalil Gibran", and so on and so on
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been the King of the Road many times. I'm still alive. I've loved the best I could in all my innocence and ignorance. I manage to always have money even when I don't. I continue to grow (thank the gods). I've made deep friendships.
