About Me

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening, my friends.
My name is Tyler L. Yoder and I am 27 years old, born and raised Delawarean.
I am currently on tour with my good friends Shane Palko and Evan Stout (both of which have Couchsurfing accounts as well). We play indie folk music as a 3 piece and are heading from Delaware, through Mexico, and all the way to Panama. Our mission is to use music as a tool to bring people together and to spread positivity during a very divided time that we live in. We would love to hear your story as well.
Here is a video we made shortly before leaving, describing our trip and playing some tunes:

I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Environmental Studies in 2014 with a concentration in society and sustainability. I am currently a teacher as an environmental nonprofit on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
Throughout the past few years, I have found passion and purpose through friends, interactions, food, and specifically music. I have been engrained in the Newark, Delaware local music scene for quite a while now and it truly has been a great experience. I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, running, reading, and finding new ways on a daily basis to try to better myself as well as my surroundings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have utilized Couchsurfing in the past to travel with a friend to Colorado from Delaware, to work on an organic farm. I have had great Couchsurfing experiences in the past in both St. Louis and Denver. It seems so much more meaningful when you're interacting with people from the city you are traveling through.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ok so I obviously couldn't just choose one thing:

1. Playing Firefly Music Festival in Delaware with my band Fiancé in front of countless friends, family and unfamiliar faces, and then only a few hours later getting to watch Paul McCartney at the same festival
2. WWOOFing at an orchard in Paonia, Colorado
3. Going on tour in London and playing my first gigs outside of the states
4. Skydiving as a surprise gift for my birthday in mid-October, falling through an actual blizzard in the clouds, 15,400 feet up in the air.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share only the experiences that i've had thus far in my life. But that includes laughter, helping you to cook, or clean, or drinking some wine or a nice brewski, friendship and radness.
