About Me
Just finished my Master's from Johns Hopkins {Insert Step Brothers reference here} and now working for a nonprofit involved in melanoma research. I love my roommate's cat (Moosh), reading, and hip hop. Born and raised in Alabama but, unfortunately, I don't sound like Matthew McConaughey. However, I do promise to do my best to fulfill any (positive) stereotypes you may have about southern people...if those actually exist. Also, I live with my roommate Alyssa, who is pretty awesome.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
D.C. is such a vibrant and diverse place and I'd really like to help others experience it. I live on Capitol Hill, about three blocks away from the U.S. Capitol and Union Station. Many of the monuments, museums, and the White House are a short walk away.
I've had the good fortune of being hosted by some really incredible people when I was traveling in the past, and I'd like to pay it forward.
Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had the opportunity to live in Bergen, Norway for about 2.5 months and spent the vast majority of my time hiking a few of the seven mountains surrounding the city, while staying at hostels and couchsurfing. I'm not sure if it qualifies as amazing by any standard, but it was a truly incredible experience and gave way to a new dream: reach the summit of all fourteen 8,000m mountains (Everest, K2, Annapurna, etc.).
