Overview
About Me
I'm Tyler. I'm 24 years old, born and raised in Kansas. I finished college in May, and really want to travel as much as I can and fill my life with novel experiences.
I recently returned from backpacking through Europe. And since returning, I've realized how little of the US I've really explored. I'd like to see it all! Specifically, I want to spend some time in the Pacific Northwest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While backpacking this summer, I learned that travel is less about the places you go, and more so about the people you meet. At the end of the day, the best travel memories I have are little moments I had with human beings -- friends that I'll never forget. I'd love to meet people who live in the places I'm visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all types of music, really. It's one of my favorite things.
As far as books, I read mainly nonfiction -- anything self-development, philosophy, psychology, or business. A few favorite authors: Eckhart Tolle, Malcom Gladwell, George Orwell, Ayn Rand, Thich Nhat Hanh, Steven Pressfield, Tim Ferris, JD Salinger, and more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Summer 2014, I backpacked through Europe by myself for over five weeks. By far, the most beautiful, challenging, and fulfilling experience of my entire life. Visited Rome, Venice, Gimmelwald, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, and many other small towns along the way.
Teach, Learn, Share
Experienced piano player -- I took ten years of lessons, but I currently only play for leisure. I play guitar as well, though I'm self-taught and rather unimpressive.
I've recently decided to chase my dream of being a writer. I'm currently seeking freelance gigs, writing as often as I can. I'd love to talk to someone who has been able to make writing their job. I have so much to learn, and I'm excited about pursuing this.
What I Can Share with Hosts
There's nothing better than a colorful conversation with someone new. I'd love to sit and learn a bit about the host and the city they live. I'm considerate, open, clean, and will show the upmost respect to you, your home, and any boundaries that you set.
