About Me
They call me nature boy.
No, no…not the decorated wrestler-superstar of the 80’s (confusing, yes), but rather an endearing name apt for a follower of the forest. Lover of lakes. A wanderer; finding myself on the dirt path less travelled. High peaks must be summited, caves explored. When not lost about the woods, I like to ride my bike. If the craving is for adrenaline: it’s down the mountain. If the craving is for burritos: it’s down the street—quickly.
I try to fill my days with relaxing and varied hobbies: woodworking, gardening, reading, or learning new skills. Social hobbies include board games, shared laughs, and dancing loosely to music; live or recorded. Some weekends I succumb to the siren call of sleeping in or, more tempting, billiards and beer at a local dive. As for weeknights, I like to exercise followed by expanding my talents in the kitchen.
After earning my degree in Geology, I worked in the environmental industry in Delaware. Realizing I wasn’t able to thrive in that environment, I moved out west to the high mountains of California. There I spent the summer fighting wildfire with the help of Smokey and the motley crew of others also in search of something new. Once the fire bug bit, I found myself moving north to beautiful Missoula, Montana.
Before and after fire season, I try to stay on the move. Whether volunteering at the local cinema, fixing bikes at the community shop, or just putting miles on my truck, it's always the same motto: Full days.
