About Me

Hi, my name is Tymur, but you can call me Tim. Since I was a kid, I was dreaming about traveling around the world with a backpack. I wanted to be the main character in "Around the World in Eighty Days", nothing really changed since then. Living in different countries, trying new exciting jobs, meeting incredible people is my way of understanding and discovering this beautiful planet. I'm really curious how things around me really work, and people are often doors to knowledge. That's why I seek to know more about you and your views on life. I'm super passionate about technologies, philosophy, self-development, neurobiology, robots, and sports. Sharing my knowledge with others is a great pleasure for me. Working with kids is a big part of my life, they are incredible learners, I'm teaching: programing (C++, python, scratch), building robots ( Arduino, Lego Mindstorms), CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360). If you're interested to learn something about these topics, just let me know. Perfect day for me is in the forest or anywhere else close to nature, storytelling around a campfire.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is my way to learn about our planet. I seek adventures, exciting stories, and new connections. Couchsurfing is the perfect way for me to fully dive into the culture and everyday living of the city and country. I'm here to make friends around the world, exchange experiences and stories.

Interests

Thera are little things that I don’t want to learn, especially from people who are good at it. Therefore, I try to learn and try new as much as possible. After all, without trying you won't know whether you like it or not. But on the first place in my interests is self-development, on the second technology. But the world is too diverse to do one thing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music makes my day, for each situation I'm looking for different genres. Nowadays I'm really into electronic music, like Techno, EDM, House, Trance, Drumandbase. At the same time, I'm learning beat-making and would be happy if you can share your knowledge. During jogging, I prefer to listen to Alternative Rock or Rap.
Reading is a great treasure of wisdom, for example, books: Think and Grow Rich, Tools of Titans, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari thought me a lot about myself and the power of thoughts. At the same time, I'm a big fan of Scifi: "The Three-Body Problem". I love watching movies with friends. I watched all movies directed by Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, Taika Waititi, and Guillermo del Toro, and I liked almost all of them. I like to create lists with must-read, must-see, or must-listen, so I always open to new suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped with a parachute
Was part of a circus troupe and performed in front of the president
Living in China without knowledge of the language or traditions
Surfing on the waves of the Atlantic Ocean

Teach, Learn, Share

In childhood, I was spending the whole summer in a small village, so I learned how to: harvest fruits, plant trees, mow the grass, paint the house, feed animals, milk a cow, make juice, canning vegetables, and fruits. I can do light repairs around the house, can handle electronic devices and computers.

I hold the title of Master of Engineering in Materials Design and Information Technology. I also own several certificates that confirm my skills in project management, SEO optimization, Autocad & Solidworks modeling. For the last two years, I have been working as a teacher of robotics(Arduino, Lego Mindstorms) and programming(C++, Python, scratch), and I will be happy to share my knowledge with you or your kids. I also worked as: chef assistant, a counselor at the camp, Social Media Manager, a promoter in the club, salesman, English tutor, nanny. I'm a fast learner and always excited to acquire a new skill. I participated in the "Work & Travel program", it gave me an opportunity to discover the United States and make new friends. Last summer I have been living in China as an Aupair, host family was wonderful, they completely immersed me in Chinese culture. I have been living in Poland for five years, spending a lot of time outside motherland taught that all people are different and special. I really want to learn Chinese and Spanish. If you know something about neurobiology and space, I would be happy to listen to it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First of all peace of culture of Ukraine and Poland, like language traditions and cuisine. I'm a fan of new technologies, robotics, and programming, so I can teach something new about it. I would be happy to share some stories from my everyday life and travel. Can teach you some circus tricks and sports like tennis or volleyball.
