About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Use CouchSurfing to visit another country.
ABOUT ME
Well, I was born in Romania, immigrated with my mom to Canada in 2000, lived in Ottawa for a bit, then moved to Toronto, where I have stayed since then. Toronto is a nice place, but I need to see the world before I decide if it's the place for me to stay.
I was a Computer Security student at Seneca College in Toronto.
Quite recently I moved to HCMC in Vietnam, and met my fiancee. We are living together here now and are on track to be married.
PHILOSOPHY
On my right arm I have tattooed "Omnia habent pretium", which translates from Latin to "everything has a price," something that I try to live by.
What I mean is that every action has a consequence, but at the same time, that things like trust, respect, and love must be earned, not given freely.
I apply that to myself as much as I do to others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I sometimes attend events, and I occasionally host. Haven't done much surfing but I hope to change that.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Brief stay with a very kind host in Montreal. Was awesome. Great city.
Interests
I'd have to say I enjoy exploring, especially in urban environments. I like tooling around with computers, and with Linux. I also love talking to everyone. I'm relearning the piano in an effort to learn the blues, my favourite style.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I watch a lot of movies. To be honest I don't really watch too many "classic" movies, I like to go for the shoot'em-up gun orgies mostly, the movie theatre is not where I go to culture myself :P. I also enjoy comedies. In high school the movie that I felt defined me was Superbad, I used to quote the hell out of it quite often... Now though, I can't really think of any movies that I would quote as having said something useful to remember. Then again, I'm not watching the right kinds of movies for that, heh.
Music: I listen to a lot of different stuff, mostly in the rock area, although I enjoy some soul/blues. Older music sits well with me. One of my favourite songs ever is "La Vie en Rose", by Edith Piaf, as well as its American counterpart by Louis Armstrong. Actually, I like most Armstrong songs. Jazz is something I enjoy as well. On the other hand, I love me some Eminem, though he's the only rapper I listen to willingly :P. Other bands that I like would be Good Charlotte, 3 Doors Down, the Beatles, The Fray, and the list goes on and on.
Books: It's been a long time since I've read fiction, my courses at uni don't really leave me a lot of time or patience for recreational fiction reading, though one book I recall really liking was The Count of Monte Cristo, I'm big on underdog stories like that. At present I read a lot of psychology books, in the hope that I'll help myself understand people better, listen better, and overall improve myself through knowledge. It's also handy to be able to tell a lot about a person before ever speaking to them. It's quite fun, and I always feel like Sherlock Holmes when I get something right :D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently moved to Vietnam, HCMC specifically. I've traveled with my fiancee around the Mekong Delta, and have seen some truly beautiful things. Southern Vietnam seen by motorcycle has been the highlight of my life so far.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the languages I know. I can help you with your ReactJS coding, or your Python. I can also help you administer your Linux box, in the unlikely scenario that you need such a thing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My fiancee and I are happy to cook for you (she is really the mastermind, I am occasionally permitted to chop vegetables). We are happy to contribute financially for anything we may use, we don't want to be a bother.
