About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a coach and psychotherapist and my husband is an Israeli tour guide and writer (his first novel The Disciple Scroll was just published!) I grew up in the US but have been living in Israel since 1979.

Love of music runs in our family- my husband plays guitar and harmonica and I love to sing. We both enjoy a good adventure, meeting interesting folks from different walks of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the opportunity to connect with people from different cultures. Also, Jerusalem is one of the world's great cities and I'm happy to show people some of its gems.

Interests

I first learned to stand on my hands in my forties, thanks to yoga. As I often wake around 3 a.m. for no good reason, that's when I enjoy polishing off a good book. I'm told I'm a very fast reader- unfortunately I also forget what I read darn quick too!
I especially enjoy being out in nature. I've recently learned a bit about identifying different edibles. If you come over for a meal you might just find some weeds and or flowers in your food. And I love talking to people- they are utterly fascinating.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too numerous to include here. I have pretty eclectic tastes, everything from Alice in Wonderland and Tolkien to good non fiction. As mentioned above, I'm a voracious reader, and am often in the middle of a few books at a time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2009 my husband, son and I backpacked the length of our little country, a zigzagging 1,000 kilometers. In the process we also raised almost $40,000 for charity. It was an incredible experience that left us wanting more so a couple of years ago we also hiked the Dingle Way- though this time, just my husband and me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I cook pretty decently- so I'm told. I can teach some basic yoga moves, willing to learn just about anything, if I have a good teacher! I can also teach you how to hoola hoop.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to cook. Teach you to identify some edible plants found in nature. Share good stories about traveling. Can also take people to some pretty interesting spots around Jerusalem.

Countries I’ve Visited
