Wow! I haven't updated my couchsurfing profile in nearly 10 years. Kind of like a blast from the past. I am not in South Africa and have lived in several places since I wrote this about me. Now I am on Vancouver Island, looking to get know the area.

I have couchsurfed in Kenya and I am looking forward to being able to return the generosity.

African literature is the main genre that I consume, but I recently joined a bookclub and have read Miriam Toews Fight Night and Gabriela Garcia's Of Women and Salt.

the very first time that i stood up on a surf board. it was the biggest adrenaline rush i have ever felt. i couldn't help yelling to everyone around.
