About Me

Moved to NYC in January 2016 after living in Austin, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Los Angeles (school), and San Diego (hometown). I lived downtown the first year to be close to Rainey Street, Dirty 6th, West 6th, and the East side. After a year, I moved over to the East side which is still pretty close to downtown (half a mile) but is more chill and where the up and coming bars/food trucks/restaurants currently reside.

I am an energetic person with many interests, so chances are I will more than likely be interested in doing any activity from sports to hiking to eating exotic foods and/or exploring craft brews. I love to explore places and show people around. I am also spontaneous and don't like to plan too many things too far in advance - I believe the adventure and fun lies in the spontaneity of the event.

I like to host the top 1% of CS surfers (not people looking for a place to crash), if you think you'd be in that group, feel free to request staying with me. If you're considerate, kind, laid back, appreciative, clean up after yourself, and think we'd get along / would be friends..I'd love to host you.

In your request, please include:
1. When you are arriving / leaving.
2. Let me know if you're okay with being out by 8:30AM (when I head to work) and not back until 7:00PM (when I try to be home by if I'm hosting). This is M-F, if you exhibit trust early on, you can stay without me there :)
3. If you don't have 10+ references that I can take a look at, please let me know why I should host you (I've just noticed my Netural/Negative experiences have been those w/ limited reviews)

Also, I try to be pretty responsive - so hope you are too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always informally hosted many Couchsurfers, mainly just friends staying over when they come to visit or friends who want to save money on rent.

But I am happy to provide a couch or surf a couch myself with the goal of establishing friendships and trading experiences/stories.

Interests

sports, technogy, food, cocktails, craft beers, startups, live music, tv/movies, investing, making new friends, hanging out with friends, traveling

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm opened to all kinds of movies and music, but I most often listen to Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, and pop and sometimes rock and alternative.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked through Europe on my own for 3 months - visited 14 countries. The only thing I planned was the beginning date, end date, and purchasing a rail pass.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about finance, investing and technology. So if you're interested in learning a little more about the markets, career options, taxes, financial statements or discussing anything, let me know.

Also, I spend a lot of time watching ESPN and reading Grantland/ESPN/Yahoo! Sports, so I am very knowledgeable about baseball, basketball, and football. Trivia and/or daily sporting events.

And if you ever want to know the college life in Los Angeles or whether you'ld like me to give my views on which place is better between San Diego vs. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco as well as Southern California vs. Northern California or California vs. Texas vs. NYC, I can share that as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You'll be hosting someone that will be respectful of your time and place, eternally grateful for your hospitality, and someone who can be independent in exploring your city if you're more of a hands-off host or involve you in my plans if you're interested.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
