Overview
About Me
I am an avid traveler and thankfully now I have a lovely wife who shares the same interest.
I have lived in several parts of my country throughout my life and maybe that's the source of my inspiration to be on the go.
I love singing and music (of most genres and that's a fact I love about me as I can enjoy any kind of music with people of different taste).
My official profile helps me further to travel even more and I am on the go for at-least 10 days a month.
I am a vehicle dynamics engineer working in R&D department of one of the Indian tyre companies. It involves evaluation of tires on actual vehicles for handling and Noise performance. I guess that does sound interesting and to be fair it is :)
I am big time foodie and one day aspire to open a small eatery of my own..
I love sharing reviews for food and stays on most of the famous portals..
In all I can say about myself being a sociable person who is bit of an extrovert, open to making conversation with strangers so that they aren't strangers anymore and loves planning specially "travel plan" for which I guess I am decently popular in my friends circle.
I have stayed in different parts of India all my life and this has assisted me in being extremely flexible with different cultures.
I am regular high altitude trekker and have done 6 of them in Himalayas with the highest successful one at 16000ft and the highest unsuccessful one at 18200ft. Thankfully I have been able to transpire the same passion into my wife and we recently finished a 15000+ft himalayan trek in life threatening situation.
Thing that I love about trekking is the way people from different regions gel together and start trusting each other in a short span of time. This is something thats lacking in world these days.
I believe in preserving nature and have been working on cutting down usage of single use plastic. Have participated in green trails in Himalayas too to make the mountains garbage free and more green.
I am a long distance runner and have run several half marathons. Unfortunately havent continued since last couple of years with my last half done in Sep17.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
1st reason: world really needs such a community to help human race in coming together and feel as one
2nd: not only travel but get in touch with the locals and if both sides are lucky and on the same frequency maybe make lifelong friends
3rd: share each other's culture and life-stories
4th: It's one of the best ways to explore a new place with the knowledge of a local
5th: and to be fair in a way its cheaper for one and all
Hoping to explore this option and also host people from across the globe at our place in Mysore (Yoga Capital of India)
PS: I don't know Yoga at all :P

Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music and books (from fiction to biography to motivational stuff)
love sci-fi fiction, horror, thriller, war movies
Movies:
Hollywood - LOTR trilogy, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, The Terminal, Schindler's List, Forest Gump, Interstellar, Inception, The Dark Knight, 12 Angry Men, Life is Beautiful, A Walk to remember, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fight Club, Shutter Island, Corpse Bride, Avatar, Life Of Pie, Big Fish
Indian Cinema - Mera Naam Joker, Pinjar, Rang De Basanti
There are a few Korean and Thai movies I have seen that I liked, specially the Koreans excel in horror and romantic stuff but nothing specific to list down!!
Books: When it comes to books deep down I feel "J. R. R. Tolkien" is the god of all authors. Just the sheer imagination and the capability of developing not just a few but several languages to support his story-line is something that just blows my mind.
I like reading "Khaled Hosseini", "Christopher Hitchens" and "Robin Sharma" although I have a variety of collection which long long back started from basic fiction by Dan Brown, then shifted to non fiction and then a bit to biographies and coming a full circle back to fiction these days. Currently I am reading Regeneration series by "Pat Barker".
'Into the Wild' and 'Into Thin Air' by "Jon Krakauer" are one of my favorites
These days I like reading Amish Tripathi (Indian author) who has an unbelievable knack of recreating mythology in a logical manner enough to make an atheist believe (not in the concept of God but surely in the concept that this is how God should have been visualized and propagated but somewhere on the way the method got corrupted). Reading the Shiva trilogy is highly recommended.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Attempted the highest trekkable summit of India.
Unfortunately couldn't complete and had to turn back from around 18200 ft at 2am :P
Successfully trekked Roopkund (16500ft), Rupin Pass (15200ft), Hampta Pass (14000ft) and Chandrashila (13000ft) in the last five years
Bungee Jump (83m)
Cliff jump in Ganges
Learnt to teach my body on how to train and then run Half marathons specially considering the lazy bum I can be at times
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: local customs, useful tips to travel in my country
